Twilight

Since the original publication of Stephenie Meyer’s first novel in the Twilight Saga, Clays has printed over ten million books and managed the distribution to a wide range of retailers.

The latest, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella was launched in the UK at 5:05am on 5 June 2010, as part of a world-wide publication. This was Stephenie Meyer’s first book for two years, and she and her publisher were determined to keep it confidential until publication in order not to spoil anything for her fans. The level of anticipation was extraordinary, and the book required the highest level of security.

Clays undertook both print and distribution of the full UK print run, all from their site in Bungay. They swiftly orchestrated a total of 115 direct deliveries of which significant numbers were export deliveries. Large quantities were delivered to the main UK retailers. As well as the production and distribution of the books, Clays managed the pre-retail aspect and delivered 1800 FSDU’s to 22 different locations in the UK and Ireland. Significant cost savings were made in book miles by direct deliveries to retailers and time management utilising a central point of contact.

Clays are committed to the highest levels of customer service and an example of this was called into play when an urgent ‘out of hours’
call was received on the Friday evening requesting a delivery of books for the launch on Saturday morning. Clays was able to expedite this efficiently, with the books arriving in time for the store opening.
