Scanachrome the specialist print and giant media division of Service Graphics recently undertook an unusual project to brand some furniture for an exhibition.

Scanachrome’s client Fagor were launching a new product named Nicostopper and wished to draw attention to the brand and it’s abilities to help people quit smoking. It was proposed that the seats and stools on the stand were customised with cigarette images printed onto them.
Scanachrome sourced and purchased the appropriate chairs and stools and the textile department set about the task to unstitch the existing fabric from the seats. They then made paper templates, which were then sent to the client for the artwork to be matched to the pattern.
The artwork was then printed onto a heavy traveira material, and the textile department cut and stitched the pattern together and fitted it to the furniture.
The desired affect was achieved as the unusual furniture did catch the eye and make the visitors to the show stop and engage in conversation.
