Peppa Pig World Signage

Paultons Park, located on the edge of the New Forest in Hampshire, is one of the country’s leading children’s theme parks. Service Graphics have worked closely with them over the years to produce all signs and graphics for the park. When they decided to build the world’s first Peppa Pig Attraction, they appointed RMA Themed Attractions Ltd to carry out the work and we were the obvious choice to work alongside RMA producing all the signs and graphics to their design.

We were challenged to produce signs that were a step above normal flat-printed signs, yet adhered to both the style guide laid down by Entertainment One UK (who governs the usage of Peppa Pig imagery) and RMA Ltd’s design brief.

The challenge included matching the specific pantone references for all of the Peppa Pig World characters and the colours used within the background graphics, including the grass and sky. The size and scale of each of the Peppa Pig characters also had to be taken into consideration during manufacture. The 3D signs were made from a combination of aluminium and acrylic. The background graphics were spray painted onto 3mm thick aluminium. Each individual letter used on the signage was cut out from 5mm clear acrylic and then sprayed to match the exact pantone reference. The letters were then individually glued to the aluminium background, alongside an accompanying graphic which had also been mounted onto 5mm acrylic. In keeping with the overall aesthetic theme, the reverse of each of the signs were painted to match the fences or posts they were fastened to
Working closely with RMA’s design team, we turned around approximately 90 3D signs in a very short timescale in time for the initial Preview Day opening.

Peppa Pig World is a fantastic day out for young children and the young at heart.
