Scanachrome the specialist giant media production division of Service Graphics recently produced 900 sq metres of printed flooring for the City of Barcelona

The city was running an exhibition in the Plaza Catalunya to communicate with the local population. The show was organised by the ‘Barcelona Metropolitan Strategic Plan’ who are the project coordination body for all of Barcelona’s greater metropolitan area.
The exhibition displayed information on the main projects being implemented or developed in the area and was housed in a 44 m diameter marquee that attracted 150,000 visitors over three days.
The organisers wanted to show the vast area in which the projects are to be undertaken by using a giant image on the floor. An aerial photograph of Barcelona’s metropolitan area and was printed onto 900 sq metres of Scanachrome's specialist flooring material called Flexi floor, the product has a rubberised backing ideal for this type of application.
Stephen Arthur, Managing Director of Scanachrome said “We have undertaken many such projects but not one on this scale before, the effect was simply stunning and the product coped well with the high level of traffic.”
