St Ives has today announced the acquisition of one of the UK’s leading database marketing companies, Occam DM Ltd. The deal will expand St Ives’ offering and extend its already wide range of marketing support and print services into data driven marketing and data insight services.
Patrick Martell, CEO, St Ives comments: “Occam is an excellent fit with our existing businesses; by combining data services with St Ives print, digital print, direct mail, email and SMS services we will offer a compelling proposition to our customers. Managing customer’s data more effectively, providing insight and combining this with media production to maximise return for our customers is now a reality. I am delighted and excited to welcome Occam to the St Ives Group.”
Based near Bristol, Occam employs eighty people and has a turnover of £8m. Occam Managing Director, James Bagan, comments: “We are extremely pleased to be working with St Ives. Our business specialises in providing the very best data-centred direct marketing and data management solutions, backed by high-level consultancy, tactical planning and analysis. We have proven success in implementing solutions across a broad range of markets and we anticipate that St Ives’ capabilities will allow us to offer a unique service to marketers.”
The new data services are expected to be widely adopted by St Ives’ customers, specifically at St Ives Direct, where in the commercial print market customers are already targeting direct mail production using data analysis and data management services. These services, allied to personalised print production, specialist design consultancy and e-mail and SMS campaign delivery will increase campaign response rates.
Patrick Martell concludes “The inclusion of Occam within our business is part of our ongoing strategy to provide a one touch service for customers. St Ives is now one step closer to offering an end to end process of campaign delivery – no matter what the technology used. Of course, print remains a fundamental part of the St Ives offering, but we want to make a real difference for our clients and these new services complement our offerings in publishing, DM, display and POS and enhance our ability to build strong mutually beneficial client partnerships.”
The services are not traditionally of the type that Service Graphics would normally offer. Rob Kelly, Marketing Director, St Ives Group commented “It is true to say that Service Graphics are known for large format print and display services, however Service Graphics do have many blue chip and brand clients who may benefit from data management and data analytic services within large event programmes or could benefit from other services offered by Occam such as customer recognition analysis within retail environments.”
