Our finance manager Caroline Lowe and her daughter Rachel took part in the MoonWalk in Edinburgh and raised £380 for vital breast cancer causes in Scotland.

The MoonWalk is a midnight powerwalk in which participants can choose between the 13 mile HalfMoon and the 26.2 FullMoon route through the streets of Edinburgh.

Around 12,000 women and men took part in the event with ages ranging from teenagers to a 79 year old pensioner. There were contingents from throughout the UK, France, Belgium, the US and Canada, many of whom completed the walk wearing extravagantly decorated and colourful bras.

For the first time, many businesses and public organisations along the route agreed to light up the facades of their buildings in pink to encourage the walkers along. These included HBOS on The Mound, Harvey Nicols in St Andrews square, the Balmoral Hotel on Princes Street and the Royal Yacht Britannia in Leith.

Paul Gregory in our digital department has also being raising money for charity in the KPMG Lomond Hospice Challenge.

Paul and his team took part in The Eiger Challenge, a three stage event over 38kms involving canoeing on Loch Lomond, a cycling stage and a final stage on foot. Paul’s team were an impressive 9th out of 24 teams and raised a total of £1,532.

Organised by KPMG Glasgow, this event has been set up to raise money for Help The Hospices, a national charity that supports the hospice movement. All monies raised from the challenge were split between two local hospices: St Margaret of Scotland & The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.

Congratulations to all of them on their wonderful achievements.
