Simplifydigital is the UK’s largest independent retailer of broadband, home phone and TV packages. The company asked Occam (Edit) to apply its insight services to help suppliers determine how to competitively price products.


  • Enable Simplifydigital to understand pricing strategies across the market, and gauge the competitiveness of individual packages and providers from industry and customer perspectives. 
  • Create a customer measure that takes into account both pricing and the geographical representation of competitors.


Occam created two indices: one of price competitiveness; the other of customer competitiveness vulnerability. Together they have given Simplifydigital and its suppliers the ability to predict average package prices based on features.

They have also given an in-depth understanding of customer price elasticity and geographical variations in package competitiveness, which Simplifydigital is successfully using to predict attrition.
